I remember getting my first love letter. I was in kindergarten. I exchanged love notes with Sheryl Cooper. She was cute. She had a twin sister, but somehow was not as cute.

Anyway…offspring #1 came home from kindergarten with a love note the other day. Here’s what it said (names changed to protect the young - excuse the spelling…they’re 6):

FRONT

“too offspring #1
Offspring #1 I love you
I sent this Note
too you
Love
Admirer #1″

BACK

“Offspring #1 and
Admirer #1

k-i-s-s-i-n-g”

This little girl poured her heart out. Here’s the note my kid sends back:

“Dear Admirer #1
You spelled my name wrong”

I guess there’s plenty of time to explain the difference between what you want to say to girls and what they want to hear.
